IFB announce latest appointment to fraud fighting team

04 December 2013

The Insurance Fraud Bureau (IFB) has announced that Stuart Gee has joined the Bureau as the new Head of Operations. Stuart started on 2 December and assumes responsibility for both the operations team and the team of analysts, which are very much at the heart of the IFB – developing networks, managing investigations and liaising with law enforcement agencies to bring fraudsters to justice. At present, the operations team is currently managing over 60 live fraud investigations across the UK with a total value of over £80m.

Stuart joins the IFB with 15 years’ counter fraud experience in both the field of investigations and insurance, most recently with RiverStone Insurance (previously Brit Insurance), as the Claims Intervention Manager, where he implemented and maintained a new counter fraud strategy across all line of their UK Retail portfolio.

Ben Fletcher, IFB Director said, “I’m delighted to welcome Stuart to the IFB. The Head of Operations is an important role, leading a team that is pivotal to our success. I have no doubt that Stuart’s knowledge and experience will be valuable assets as we continue to identify organised fraud and help ensure they are brought to justice.”

Stuart Gee, the new Head of Operations for the IFB said, “Being asked to lead the operations team at the IFB is a real honour. The IFB’s dedication and passion to reduce financial crime is unrelenting and I’m delighted to have this opportunity to contribute directly towards the whole industry’s fight against insurance fraud”
