A large-scale crash for cash investigation between the Insurance Fraud Bureau (IFB) and Metropolitan Police has come to the conclusion with a total of 19 fraudsters sentenced for their part in the fraud.

Birmingham pair arrested in crash for cash investigation

A man and woman from Birmingham have been arrested by officers from the City of London police’s Insurance Fraud Enforcement Department (IFED) as part of an investigation into a suspected ‘crash for cash’ gang. The case was referred to IFED detectives after analysts from the Insurance Fraud Bureau (IFB) identified suspicious links between a number of collisions and related insurance claims in the Birmingham area.

Industry extends commitment to the Insurance Fraud Register

The insurance industry has extended its commitment to the Insurance Fraud Register (IFR), a landmark initiative in the fight against insurance fraud. ABI’s General Insurance Council Management Committee (GIC) approved a recommendation from the IFR Steering Board to extend the funding commitment for an additional 3 years.
