Man charged with crash for cash offences following IFB and IFED investigation
12 May 2017
A man has been charged yesterday (11 May 2017) with conspiracy to commit fraud and dangerous driving relating to 24 road traffic collisions after an investigation between the IFB and City of London Police’s Insurance Fraud Enforcement Department (IFED). He was allegedly setting up road traffic accidents targeting innocent members of the public in order to make false vehicle insurance claims.
Aziz Ullah Mansoor, aged 25, from Stratford Road, Birmingham was arrested by IFED officers on 31 October 2016.
IFED has made the arrest following a joint investigation with the Insurance Fraud Bureau (IFB). The IFB acts as a central data hub for the insurance industry to detect and disrupt organised motor insurance fraud - it detects suspicious patterns and fraudulent insurance claims that individual insurers alone cannot detect - and works in partnership with police to support the arrests of suspected fraudsters.
Mansoor will appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court on 8 June 2017.
